UN Human Rights Committee Calls on Turkey: Recognise the Right to Conscientious Objection
The UN Human Rights Committee considered Turkey’s second periodic report and reports from different civil society organizations during its meetings in October and issued its concluding observations in a document on 7 November 2024.
Submissions from Conscientious Objection Watch to the UN Human Rights Committee and the Universal Periodic Review: “Turkey continues not to recognize the right to conscientious objection.”
Conscientious Objection Watch prepared two separate submissions for the 142nd session of the United Nations International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and for the 4th cycle of the Universal Periodic Review.
